Software Test Engineer

You will work with the Business teams to define acceptance criteria and work with the Development teams to ensure requirements are testable and meet functional expectation and quality.

Data Clarity has a fantastic opportunity for a Software Test Engineer to join their Projects & Programmes team.

Following the continued growth of the business, we are now looking to recruit a Software Test Engineer who will underpin the quality of our product releases and validation processes.

This is a new role that has been created in response to an increase in Business turnover and an expansion in the Product portfolio. As the Software Test Engineer for Data Clarity, you will apply your skills and experience to both direct and conduct the testing and validation of both new and incremental Product releases. As this is a new role within the Business, you will be expected to work across the Development and Customer Support teams to evolve the established testing processes and take these to the next level. Your aspiration should be the establishment of an efficient, scalable and where practical automated testing capability across the Business. This is in support of a range of Customer Projects and Software Product Developments as well as the day-to-day operational needs of the business.


Role Objective

The ideal candidate will use their skills and experience to develop software testing solutions for all stages of the software lifecycle, from concept to delivery. They will develop test strategies, for Unit, System and User Acceptance (UAT) testing. They will work with the Business teams to define acceptance criteria and work with the Development teams to ensure requirements are testable and meet functional expectation and quality. This approach will ensure Data Clarity deliver what our customers want, to the standards they need, through their clear understanding of the business requirements and technology all within a fast-paced Agile workflow.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the use of technology in business and a hunger for understanding, simplifying, and resolving complex processes. Supporting both Business and Development Directorates, you will be expected to help guide the business to improve product, service and software through effective and timely testing strategies and processes.

Working within an agile environment between the Business and Development you will need to demonstrate an ability to walk the line between the constraints of technology and the needs and expectations of the end user.

The ideal candidate will have a willingness to address all aspects of the role and the drive to succeed in a progressive business.


Skills/Abilities

Essential

  • Knowledge of software test theory including penetration testing.
  • Must be able to understand Business Logic and Processes to create testing use
    cases.
  • Experience of full Software Development Lifecycle and Customer Acceptance
  • Experience working in Agile, Scrum based frameworks.
  • Experience in preparing test plans, TDD and BDD.
  • Practical experience of using Azure DevOps.
  • Setup and use of Software test automation tools.
  • Knowledge of Scripting languages like SQL and Python
  • Knowledge of programming languages and Networks, Databases, and other related
    technologies
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Logical and “out of the box” thinking

You may be required to travel on company business from time to time both in the UK and abroad for which a valid passport as well as a full UK driving licence is required.
